The Nigerian privately-held exploration and production company is looking for farm-in partners in Senegal’s Cayar Shallow while continuing exploration in the highly prospective Saint-Louis Shallow.
Currently, Oranto is in the first phase of its exploration campaign and official estimates mention reserves of between 100 and 200 barrels of oil.
The Cayar Shallow features a total acreage of 3,618km2, which lies immediately north of the Dakar peninsular and the FAN-1 and SNE-1 Cairn Energy discoveries at Rufisque. These discoveries have drawn considerable attention to the area. So far, 1,000km2 of 3D seismic data has been acquired, on top of an initial iteration of quality, reprocessed 2D seismic activity.
The Cayar Shallow block is open to farm-in partners seeking to continue exploration in this highly prospective area.
