Commodities and Responsibility: Lessons from Central Africa

Sneyd, Hamman, and Enns Commodity Politics is a manuscript under-review. This book sets out to map how commodity politics is shifting in the wake of the rise of responsibility. The question of in what ways, if any, do the perspectives that commodity stakeholders in Central Africa and in Cameroon utilize to frame their discourses or interventions linked to ‘responsibility’ align or diverge? drives the research presented in this volume. Palm oil, gold, sugar, oil, and cocoa are the commodities analysed, and from this analysis the manuscript situates the new politics of responsibility.
